Three Mater Dei Players Selected to All-Star Team

Mater Dei High School center Tom Lewis, the fourth-leading career scorer in Southern Section history, heads the list of selections that will compete for the North team in the Orange County All-Star basketball game on June 22 at Peterson Gym in Costa Mesa.
Lewis will be joined by teammates Mike Mitchell and Mike Kelly who helped lead the Monarchs to a 29-0 record and the 5-A division title. Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight will guide the team after the Monarchs were moved to the North by game organizers.

Steve Bennett (Katella), 6-1, G; Paul Crandall (Los Alamitos), 6-6, F; David Fox (Brea-Olinda), 6-5, F; Jeff Green (Kennedy), 6-4, F; Bart Hakeman (El Dorado), 6-1, G; Eric Hendry (Orange), 6-6, C; Matt Honikel (Servite), 6-5, F; Mike Kelly (Mater Dei), 6-4, F; Tom Lewis (Mater Dei), 6-7, C; Jim Mansfield (El Dorado), 6-2, F; Mike Mitchell (Mater Dei), 6-5, F and Tim Pittman (Savanna), 6-1, G.
