CSUN Settles for Split in Softball Tournament

Cal State Northridge defeated UC Santa Barbara, 8-1, but was shut out by top-ranked Cal State Fullerton, 4-0, Friday, in the Libby Matson Invitational Softball Tournament at the University of the Pacific.
The Lady Matadors are 3-1 in the tournament, 44-12 overall.
Linda Lowande had the big hit against Santa Barbara, a bases-loaded double in the fifth that broke open a 1-1 tie.
Kathy Slaten (29-6) won the first game but was outdueled in the second by Fullerton’s Debi Mygind.
