Pollack Pitches Canyons Past Antelope Valley

Left-hander Chris Pollack tossed a four-hitter Tuesday to lead College of the Canyons to a 6-1 Mountain Valley Conference win at Antelope Valley.

Pollack (6-1) helped the Cougars (10-2-1, 20-8-1) improve their lead over West Los Angeles College (8-4, 22-8) to two games.

In another MVC game Tuesday, Dan Telles (4-1) struck out eight and allowed six hits to record a complete-game victory as Valley topped Mission, 8-4.

Catcher Paul Cottrell had four hits and scored twice for Valley (7-6, 14-13). Tim Riley and Chris Haslock contributed three hits each, and Howard Halen had three RBIs for the Monarchs.

The Free Spirit fell to 1-11-1 (4-15-1 overall).
