Shortstop Tinkle Sunset League Player of Year

Ocean View High School senior shortstop David Tinkle was named the Player of the Year in the Sunset League in a vote of the league’s coaches. Tinkle batted .360 and was a standout defensive player.

The league-champion Seahawks had two other players named to the first team along with second-place Huntington Beach and third-place Fountain Valley. First-year Coach Bill Gibbons of Ocean View was named Coach of the Year after leading the Seahawks to their first league title.
