County Takes On City in San Diego Prep All-Star Game

SAN DIEGO — Most of the San Diego Section’s top baseball talent will compete in the City-County All-Star Game at San Diego State’s Smith Field at 6 tonight.
The City team, coached by Christian High School’s Jerry Huson, will include the top players in the three City Leagues, including Mission Bay’s John Hemmerly and Mira Mesa’s Willy Morris.
The County, coached by Oceanside’s David Barrett, will be represented by players from the North County, the South Bay and the Grossmont League. San Pasqual’s Robbie Adams and San Marcos’ Mike Ponio are among the County players expected to compete tonight.
