Share

Two-time defending Southern Conference champion El Modena High School, coming off an impressive 14-0 win over Edison, is the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll.

Edison, which was No. 1 last week, failed to receive a vote by the 10 sportswriters who participate in the poll. Servite received three first-place votes and Fountain Valley earned one.

Capistrano Valley, which failed to get a vote last week, moved into sixth place with 37 points following a 26-7 win over Foothill. Three South Coast League teams--Capistrano Valley, Mission Viejo and El Toro--are represented in the top 10.
