El Camino, Mission Advance in Soccer

El Camino and Los Angeles Mission colleges advanced to tonight’s championship round of the Golden West Cup soccer tournament with wins in the first round Friday night.
El Camino defeated Fullerton, 4-0, while Mission defeated tournament host Golden West in a shootout after the teams fought to a 3-3 tie in regulation play.
El Camino and Mission play for the championship tonight at 6 o’clock. In other action:

UC Irvine 1, Westmont 1--Kim Cusimano scored off a corner kick early in the second half Friday to give the Anteater women’s team a tie with Westmont in a nonconference game played at UCI. Irvine is 1-4-1, the Warriors 8-1-3.
