Top Seven Teams Are Still Unbeaten

Share

The top seven teams in last week’s Times’ Top 10 remained unbeaten and retained their positions in this week’s ratings. The combined record of Helix, Sweetwater, Vista, Lincoln, Granite Hills, Orange Glen and Fallbrook high schools is 27-0.

Bonita Vista, which beat Marian, 54-0, last week, moved into the rankings for the first time at No. 8. The Barons would have been unbeaten but had to forfeit a season-opening 36-6 win over Madison because they used an ineligible player.

Point Loma and Chula Vista moved into the No. 9 and No. 10 positions, respectively. Point Loma, which lost its opener, 36-0, to El Camino, won its third straight last week by beating University, 38-20. Chula Vista, which fell out of the Top 10 after an 8-7 loss to Southwest two weeks ago, rebounded to beat Castle Park, 24-0, Friday.
