Marvin Johnson and Prince Muhammed were chosen to fight for the World Boxing Council’s light-heavyweight title, which was taken from Michael Spinks, who won the International Boxing Federation heavyweight title when he defeated Larry Holmes.
Spinks has said he will not fight again as a light-heavyweight. Johnson, of Indianapolis, and Muhammed, of Ghana, are ranked 1-2 by the WBC in the 175-pound class.
