Volleyball Roundup : San Diego State Women Keep UC Irvine Winless in Pacific Coast Athletic Assn.

San Diego State received 12 kills from Angelica Jackson en route to a 15-8, 15-6, 15-10 win over UC Irvine in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. women’s volleyball match Tuesday in San Diego.
Senior middle blocker Cindy Rohrig had 13 kills to lead Irvine (0-14, 7-16). The Anteaters host Cal State Fullerton Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Crawford Hall.
In community college action:
Golden West 3, Fullerton 0--Marina VanMelle and Karen Knight combined for 19 kills to lead the Rustlers to a 15-8, 15-9, 15-7, South Coast Conference win at Fullerton. Golden West finished conference play at 13-1, winning its third straight conference title.
El Camino 3, Orange Coast 1--El Camino, the state’s top-ranked team, rebounded from a loss in the first game for a 10-15, 15-5, 15-5, 15-4, nonconference victory at El Camino. Barbara Bally had eight kills and Michelle Lazorek seven blocks for Orange Coast (12-5).
