Golden West Women Advance in Volleyball

Golden West College defeated San Diego Mesa, 11-15, 15-12, 15-5, 15-2, in a quarterfinal match of the Southern California community college women’s volleyball regionals at Huntington Beach Tuesday.

Marina Van Melle had 15 kills, 4 aces, and 3 blocks to lead the Rustlers (14-3), who advance to the regional semifinals Saturday at San Diego.

Mesa, which defeated Riverside in the first round earlier Tuesday, finished its season at 14-4.
