Nonleague Roundup : Tallant Gets 31 as Fullerton Races Past Mayfair

Ralph Tallant scored a career-high 31 points to lead Fullerton High School to an 81-66 victory over Mayfair Friday night at Fullerton.

Tallant was 12 of 13 from the field and 7 of 7 from the free throw line. Tallant, a 6-foot 2-inch, senior forward, totaled 27 points in the second and fourth quarters.

Mike Perez and Chris Zerga each added 17 points for the Indians. Perez hit 8 of 9 attempts from the field.

Fullerton (8-5) fell behind, 10-0, but then outscored Mayfair, 43-19.

San Clemente 68, Mira Mesa 63--Gary Wade scored a game-high 29 points as the Tritons held off Mira Mesa at San Clemente. The Tritons led by as many as 10 points, but Mira Mesa pulled to within three in the third quarter and started fouling. San Clemente (7-5) made 18 of 21 free throws in the final period to secure the win. Jeff Love scored 14 and John Valdez added 11 for the Tritons.

La Habra made 3 of 15 shots in the first half, and trailed 29-8.
