NEW ORLEANS — Bob Hiegert, Cal State Northridge athletic director, said Tuesday that the magic number in his school’s search for a new head football coach is down to three.
According to Hiegert, CSUN received “52 or 53” applications since the termination of former Coach Tom Keele on Dec. 7.
That number was next trimmed to nine.
An offer is expected to be made by Thursday to one of the three remaining candidates.
The new coach is expected to be introduced at a Friday news conference at the Northridge campus.
