Girls’ Roundup : Valdez Leads Katella to 57-43 Victory

Serenda Valdez scored 23 points Wednesday to lead Katella High School to a 57-43 girls’ basketball win over Villa Park in a CIF Southern Section 3-A division wild-card game.

The Knights (19-3) will play Hacienda Heights Wilson on Saturday night in the first round of the playoffs. Villa Park finished the season at 15-9.

Cal Lutheran 56, Harbor Christian 19--Ruth Moldstead had 16 points to lead the Seahawks (10-6) to the small school’s wild-card win at Orange Lutheran. Karen Pasch added 12 points for Cal Lutheran.
