Mission Viejo Nadadores Beat Swim San Diego

SAN DIEGO — The Mission Viejo Nadadores defeated Swim San Diego, 2,128-1,340, Sunday in a dual meet for all age groups at UC San Diego’s Canyonview Pool.
Though the swimmers were not tapered in preparation for next weekend’s Southern California Invitational at East Los Angeles College, Mission Viejo’s Artur Wojdat won three senior boys’ division races. He won the 50-meter freestyle in 21.51 seconds, and the 500 free with a time of 4:34.31. Wojdat swam a senior national qualifying time of 45.98 in the 100 free.
Kirk Stackle of Swim San Diego and Mike Welch of Mission Viejo finished 1-2 in the senior boys’ breaststroke races. Welch swam a 2:13.42 to beat Stackle in the 200 breaststroke by 24 hundreths of a second. Stackle won the 100 with a 1:00.82 and Welch was second with a 1:01.10.
