Times Selects Top Players, Coaches

Junior forward Don Brotz of Wilson High School was named boys South Coast Player of the Year at a Times’ awards brunch last Saturday. Brotz was the Most Valuable Player of the Moore League and averaged 23 points a game in league competition.
The girl Player of the Year in the South Coast was Mandy Hannah, a junior guard from Compton who averaged 22 points a game and was Moore League MVP.
South Coast Coaches of the Year were Ernie Carr, who led the Dominguez boys to the semifinals of the Southern Section playoffs, and Van Girard of girls 4-A champion Lynwood.
