Laguna Hills’ Helms Signs With Arizona

Laguna Hills High School pitcher Wayne Helm, Orange County’s strikeout leader this season, has signed a letter of intent with the University of Arizona, Laguna Hills Coach Jack Hodges said Wednesday.

Helm had 11 strikeouts in Laguna Hills 3-3 tie against Dana Hills Wednesday, raising his season total to 97. Helm was 10-3 with a 1.88 earned run average and 87 strikeouts last season and was a third-team, All-Southern Section selection.
