Edison Named Top Seed in Boys’ Prep Volleyball

Edison High School, which finished the Sunset League schedule with its 12th straight victory last Friday, is the top-seeded team in the CIF Southern Section 4-A boys’ volleyball playoffs pairings announced Monday. The Chargers (15-1) will open the playoffs at home Thursday night against San Clemente, the No. 3 representative from the South Coast League. Newport Harbor, which edged Laguna Beach for the Sea View League championship, is seeded second. The Sailors (14-1) will meet the winner of tonight’s wild-card match between Rolling Hills and Fountain Valley at Rolling Hills.
