Chapman Splits in Softball Tournament

The Chapman College softball team split its first two games in the North-South Showdown Tournament Thursday, defeating Chico State, 3-1, and losing to UC Davis, 3-1, at Cal State Sacramento.

Casey Tacason hit a two-run homer, Lori Tschetter had two hits and an RBI, and Diane Blankenship pitched a six-hitter to pace the Panthers (31-20) in the first game. Chapman will play Portland State and Sacramento State today.
