Share

Santa Barbara High School will try for its second straight Southern Section 4-A tennis title today at 3 p.m. against Rancho Palos Verdes Miraleste at the Kramer Tennis Club in Rolling Hills Estates.

Santa Barbara Coach Jack Trigueiro had guided his team to 18 straight Channel League titles before finally winning the 4-A title a year ago by defeating South Torrance.

This year, despite losing its top two singles players to graduation, Santa Barbara and Trigueiro went undefeated and won the Channel League again and enter today’s final with a 49-match winning streak. Miraleste enters the final with a 20-1 record.
