Madison’s Glassford and Everett Named 3-A Players of Year; Wesson Picked in 2-A

Madison High School teammates Lisa Glassford and Steffanie Everett have been named San Diego Section 3-A softball Players of the Year, and Christian High’s Michelle Wesson has been named the 2-A Player of the Year.

Glassford struck out 11 and allowed only two hits as Madison beat Monte Vista, 2-0, Saturday in the 3-A final. She was 11-1 with an ERA of 0.51. Everett, who scored a run in the first inning of the final, hit .353 with five home runs and 19 RBIs.

Wesson, who threw five one-hitters during the season, struck out five batters Saturday as Christian beat Crawford, 6-3, for the 2-A title. She ended the season 23-2.
