Taiwanese Pros Tops in Mitsubishi Golf
Huang Yuen-chyn shot a 1-under-par 71 Sunday and won by two strokes as Taiwanese pros swept three of the top four places in the women’s golf tournament.
Huang finished with a three-round total of 210, six-under par on the 6,105-yard, par-72 Biwako Country Club course, and earned $20,400 for her first victory of the season and the third victory in her pro career.
Taiwan’s Tu Ai-yu, the current leading money winner on the Japan LPGA Tour with five tournament victories, fired a 67 for 212 and came in second.
Tatsuko Osako was the best among the Japanese pros, finishing third at 213 after shooting a 69 Sunday. Fourth was Taiwan’s Chen Li-ying at 214 after a final round 71.
Taiwanese women pros have won nine out of the 12 tournaments so far this season on the Japan LPGA tour.
