Parents Charged in Fire That Killed Four in N.Y.

NEW YORK — The parents of four children who died when fire swept through the family’s room in a welfare hotel were charged with endangerment Saturday. Police said that Edwin Alvarez Sr., 30, and his wife, Susana, 27, were charged with leaving their children, ages 18 months to 7 years, unattended when the fire broke out Friday.
