Vista Hangs On to No. 1 Spot in Football Poll

SAN DIEGO — Vista, the No. 1 team in the state a year ago, remained No. 1 in the Times’ Top 10 this week after a 28-0 victory over Oceanside. The Panthers have now won 14 straight games since losing to Sweetwater in the 1985 3-A final.
Sweetwater remains No. 2 after taking last week off. In the only Top 10 upset last week, Granite Hills lost to Poway, 13-7.
Granite Hills slipped from No. 4 to No. 8 this week.
