PREP FOOTBALL : Villa Park’s Offense Runs Over Katella

Villa Park High School used its running game to wear down Katella, 35-21, Thursday in a nonleague game in Glover Stadium at Anaheim.
Spartan running backs Tony Inga (129 yards, 1 touchdown) and John Genova (122, 2 touchdowns) led the way.
Villa Park took a 14-0 lead late in the first half before giving up a touchdown on a fumble return by Katella.
Katella closed to within 14-13 early in the third quarter, but Villa Park responded with two more touchdowns and led, 28-13. The Knights cut it to 28-21 when Jeff Yourstone threw his second touchdown pass, a 25-yarder to Kelly Palmer, with 10:09 to play, and followed that with the two-point conversion pass to Bubba Clester.
The Spartans scored on a one-yard run with 13 seconds left in the game to account for the final score of the game.
Villa Park raised its record to 1-1. Katella fell to 1-1.
