Hancock’s Canley, Glendale’s Scott Honored

Freshman running back Sheldon Canley, who rushed 33 times for 304 yards and 5 touchdowns for Allan Hancock College last Saturday, has been named Western State Conference offensive player of the week. Canley led Hancock to a 35-3 win over Porterville.

Glendale sophomore Don Scott, who made 11 unassisted tackles, recovered one fumble and deflected two passes, was selected the WSC’s defensive player of the week. Scott, a 6-3, 220-pound linebacker, led the Vaquero defense in its 14-7 win over El Camino.
