Templeton 50, Faith Baptist 41--Templeton jumped out to an early 21-0 lead and then withstood several Faith Baptist charges to win the nonleague game Saturday at Faith Baptist.

If past history is any indication, the game was the first of what could prove to be two games between the schools this season. Faith Baptist (4-2) and Templeton (6-0) have met in each of the last two Eight-Man Large Division championship games. Faith Baptist won in 1984, Templeton in 1985.

This season, Templeton is ranked No. 1 in the division, while Faith Baptist is No. 4.

Trailing 28-6, Faith Baptist scored 16 points during a 16-second span to close the margin to 28-22 just before halftime.

Stadig wasn’t the only Faith Baptist player to compile some impressive numbers. Runnning back Sean Ynez gained 114 yards and scored two touchdowns in 13 carries.
