Southern Section Tennis : Leach Leads Laguna Beach

Mindy Leach, No. 1 singles player for the Laguna Beach High School girls’ tennis team, won her three singles sets Tuesday to lead the Artists to a 12-6 win over Connelly in a Southern Section 3-A wild-card match at Laguna Beach.

Leach defeated her three opponents, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, as the Artists (12-10) advanced to Thursday’s first round, where they will play Millikan High at Long Beach.

Sonora 10, Hacienda Heights Wilson 8--The Raiders defeated the Wildcats to advance to Thursday’s first round to play Ivy League champion Hemet.
