Cal Lutheran quarterback Tom Bonds broke Western Football Conference, NAIA and NCAA Division II records for completions (44) and passing yards (434) against St. Mary’s on Saturday. The junior quarterback, who was named player of the week in the WFC, finished the season with 2,402 yards. He completed 198 of 350 passes, including 18 touchdowns. . . . Bonds led the WFC in total offense, averaging 248.6 yards a game and he was first in yards passing with 266.9 a game. He finished third in the WFC in passing efficiency. . . . CLU running back Cary Grant was third in the conference in receptions with 44, including 30 in his last three games. . . . Mike Kane of Cal State Northridge led the conference in rushing (1,565 yards), punt returns (11.3 yards) and scoring (96 points on 16 touchdowns). . . . CSUN’s Mike Doan led the WFC in kick scoring with 76 points.
