Los Amigos (2-1) led, 72-70, when Villa Park (0-2) forward Chris Storck’s shot rolled off the rim. A Villa Park player under the basket was unable to control the rebound and the ball bounced off his foot out of bounds with 10 seconds left.

The Spartans fouled Lobos guard Jim McGee, who hit both free throws. McGee finished with 16 points and forward John Jenkins had 15.
