Orange County Prep Soccer : Crowley Scores Twice to Pace La Quinta, 5-2

Lara Crowley scored two goals to lead La Quinta High School to a 5-2 nonleague victory over Marina in girls’ soccer action Thursday afternoon at La Quinta.

Kristin Harkins, Renee Cano and Tina Cochran also scored a goal each for the Aztecs (5-0).

Candace Bowen and Kris Kiersted scored for the Vikings (1-2-1).

In other nonleague games:

El Dorado 1, Sonora 1--Whitney Nelson scored for the Golden Hawks (0-2-1) in the first half but the Raiders tied the score in the second half when the ball deflected off an El Dorado defender into the goal. Maggie Takei of Sonora was credited with the goal.

Valencia 2, La Habra 1--Allison Hook and Tricia Smaldino scored for the Tigers (3-1) at La Habra.

In nonleague boys’ games:

Magnolia 3, Buena Park 0--Edwin Mucuca, Sergeo Montes and Diego Abbes scored one goal each for the Sentinels (1-0-3) at home.

Brea-Olinda 3, Kennedy 1--Kenny Claborn, Robert Hillard and Eric Frost scored to give the Wildcats (2-3-1) a home victory.

The first two Brea-Olinda goals by Hillard and Frost came on assists by Mike Oziminski.

Tino Barrera scored for the Irish (3-2) in the with three minutes left in the game.

Capistrano Valley 2, Huntington Beach 2--Joe Wood scored one goal and assisted Mike Gilmore for another as the teams tied at Capistrano Valley.

Marina 3, Orange 2--The winning goal came in the 63rd minute when Darrin Fishman made an assist and Mike Perry scored for the Vikings (2-1-1). With about five minutes left, Orange was awarded a penalty kick but Steve Ross blocked the shot.

In the Irvine Tournament:

Newport Harbor 4, Westminster 0--Billy Castanha scored in the first half and Tom Walker, Shawn Jarrard and Garth Tamlyn scored one goal each in the second half for the Sailors (2-1-1).
