Patrick Ewing, New York Knicks center, was fined $3,000 by the NBA for punching Boston’s Greg Kite during a game. Ewing threw an elbow at Kite and then slugged the reserve center in the second quarter of Tuesday night’s game, which was won by the Celtics, 107-96. Ewing was charged with a punching foul but was not ejected.
