Tim Reed, former Marina High School volleyball coach, has been named boys’ volleyball coach at Corona del Mar.
Reed, 33, coached volleyball at Marina for nine years before resigning as coach earlier this year. He remained on the faculty last year at Marina, but will teach at Corona del Mar.
Reed replaces Paul Kubas, who was fired after one season at Corona del Mar.
“I was looking for a better situation, and this is probably one the better jobs in the state,” Reed said. “I was thinking of trying to be a walk-on assistant on a college team before I heard about this job.”
Ron Davis, Corona del Mar athletic director, said: “We hope that Tim will at least maintain and maybe improve our program. He has the experience that we need for the program.”
