Community College Softball : Palomar Defeats Rancho Santiago in Final

Palomar College defeated Rancho Santiago, 2-0, on Monday to win the rain-delayed Rancho Santiago softball tournament. The final had been rained out two weeks ago.

Palomar’s Linda Salseth scored off an error in the first and Amy McDonald scored off a sacrifice fly in the second. Karrie Schott (4-0) struck out six and walked three in seven innings for Palomar.

Fullerton 5, Pierce 0--Left fielder Christine Sison led the Hornets with a single, a double, a triple and three runs batted in at Fullerton. The Hornets (5-0) had seven hits and no errors. Traci Smith (1-0) gave up two hits and struck out six in four innings for Fullerton.
