CSUN’s Daniels Named to First Team, Drecksel to Second Team All-CCAA
Senior guard Jimmy Daniels of Cal State Northridge has been named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball team, it was announced Thursday. Other first-team selections include Will Alexander (Dominguez Hills), Sean Chambers (Cal Poly SLO), Robert Jimerson (Riverside), Melvin Parker (Cal Poly SLO), Paul Kapturkiewicz (Dom. Hills), and Jon Samuelson (Champan).
CSUN senior guard Paul Drecksel was a second-team selection.
Denise Sitton of CSUN, was named to the All-CCAA women’s basketball team Thursday. Sitton, the leading scorer in CSUN history, led the CCAA in scoring with a 19.7 points-per-game average. The senior forward also averaged 9.8 rebounds.
Debra Larsen of Cal Poly Pomona, who averaged 17.8 points and 11.5 rebounds, was named most valuable player. Others on the first team were Michele McCoy (Pomona), Lupe Quintana (Cal State L.A.), Sherrie Atteberry (Cal Poly SLO), Valerie Hartsfield (Chapman).
Julie Middleton of Northridge, a senior forward-guard, was named to the second team.
