San Gorgonio, the No. 2-seeded team in the Southern Section girls 3-A soccer playoffs, scored a second-half goal at the 54-minute mark, breaking a 1-1 tie, as San Gorgonio defeated a young Alemany team, 2-1, Saturday night at Gahr High.

Kati Dulock scored both goals for San Gorgonio (29-0-1) on free penalty kicks from 15 yards out. Her first goal came at the 10-minute mark of the first half.

Dulock’s second goal came after she was fouled by Alemany’s Yvette Lopez as she sprinted toward the goal area. Dulock slipped the ball past Alemany keeper Lisa Gonzales on the free kick for the game-winner.

Lisa Gill scored the lone goal for Alemany (18-6-5) at the eight-minute mark of the first half.

Gill, a 5-10 junior forward, beat San Gorgonio goalkeeper Staci Rossi, a sophomore, on a breakaway.

Alemany, which had just one senior on the entire team, was the second-seeded team from the Pacific League.

“They should be tough to deal with next season,” said San Gorgonio coach Steve Lucey of the Alemany team.

San Gorgonio is the Citrus Belt League champion.
