Share

Angela Burnham of Rio Mesa High made an impressive outdoor debut at the inaugural Spartan relays in Oxnard on Saturday. The defending state 100-meter champion won her specialty and participated on three second-place relay teams to highlight performances by Valley-area athletes.

Burnham won the 100 meters in 12.00, well off her 11.77 personal best but an outstanding effort for her first outdoor race of the season. Burnham was running hand times of 12.2 and 12.3 at this time last season so she has improved dramatically from a year ago.BASEBALL
