Community College Baseball : Klopfer’s Triple Gives Fullerton Victory

Rod Klopfer drove in a run with a pinch-hit triple with two out in the eighth inning to give Fullerton College a 5-4 South Coast Conference victory over Pasadena City at Fullerton. Scott Einhorn went 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Fullerton (4-0, 8-3-2). Pasadena City is 0-4, 4-5.

In another South Coast Conference game:

Long Beach City 11, Golden West 4--The Vikings hit four home runs--including a three-run homer by Al Toney in the second inning--as they won at Golden West. Golden West is 2-3, 5-4.

In a nonconference game:

Cal Poly Pomona junior varsity 5, Orange Coast 4--The Broncos put together a double, triple and single to score two runs in the ninth inning, defeating the Pirates at Orange Coast. Orange Coast is 12-4.

In a nonconference softball game:

Golden West 3, Riverside 2--Kelli Winkler hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh, leading Golden West (13-5) at home. Rustler Karen Nakamaru (3-3) pitched her third one-hitter of the year, striking out six and walking four.
