Community College Softball : Rancho Santiago Scores Late to Edge Citrus

Christi Kalehuawehe’s single drove in Sandy Martinez with the game-winning run in the seventh inning to lead Rancho Santiago College to a 2-1 victory over Citrus in an Orange Empire Conference softball game at Citrus.
Martinez also doubled in the third to score Christy Alvarez, who tripled.
Joyce Lyman (4-0) pitched a four-hitter and struck out six for Rancho Santiago (5-0, 11-5). Kelly Connelly pitched a five-hitter and struck out five for Citrus, 1-4 in conference.
Cypress 3, Orange Coast 2--Priscilla Villagomez highlighted a three-run second inning with a two-run double for the Chargers at Cypress. Dee Dee Shephard had two hits for Cypress (2-3, 6-8). Orange Coast is 1-4 and 4-6.
In nonconference games:
Palomar 5, Golden West 0--Karrie Schott (13-0) threw a one-hitter and struck out seven for the Comets at Palomar. Amy McDonald went 2 for 3 with two home runs to lead Palomar (1-1, 18-1). Schott added a two-run triple in the first. Schar Schmitt singled in the fifth for Golden West (2-0, 15-6) to break up the no-hitter.
Fullerton 3, Chaffey 0--Annette Gonzales pitched a one-hitter and struck out 10 for the Hornets (12-6) at Fullerton. Julie Poulos went 2 for 3 with two stolen bases and one run scored. Noelle Heusser and Christine Sison also scored for Fullerton.
