Embattled Silverman to Miss 3rd Game

Share

Beth Silverman, 35-0 in three seasons as a pitcher for El Camino Real High’s softball team, will be held from her third straight start Tuesday at Sylmar, Coach Neils Ludlow said. Silverman’s status is termed as “a leave of absence from the team pending some kind of resolution,” according to Ludlow.

Last week, Silverman’s teammates petitioned to have her taken off the squad after she reportedly cursed a teammate during a nonleague game against Newbury Park. Ludlow did not speculate about Silverman’s situation.

“I hope it gets resolved as soon as possible because I think it’s way out of hand,” Silverman said Thursday. “Ludlow is the coach and I feel it’s his decision whether or not I return.”
