HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS : Westlake Pounds Out 11-0 Win

Westlake High had four home runs among its 16 hits Wednesday in an 11-0 Marmonte League victory over host Thousand Oaks.

Consecutive home runs in the fourth inning by Matt Franco, Jim Henderson and Greg Struhl off Thousand Oaks starter Dan Chergy broke the game open and propelled Westlake to its fourth league win against two losses and a tie.

Henderson had two homers, a double and four runs batted in and Franco went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

BASEBALL

Greg Connolly (2-1) threw six innings of one-hit ball, allowing one run and striking out four, to lead Crespi to a 12-1 nonleague victory at San Marcos. Matt Arnold and Joe Testa each had three hits for Crespi (12-3-1).

SOFTBALL

Sophomore Donna LeDuff hit a solo homer and a grand slam in the eighth inning to lead Taft to a 15-7 West Valley League victory at Reseda. Reseda (2-2 in league) scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings, but Taft (4-4, 3-1 in league) sent 12 batters to the plate in the eighth to score eight runs. LeDuff, playing her first varsity game, went 2 for 4 and had 6 RBIs. . . . Erica Anenberg, Shagarro Lattin and Ryder Beery each had two hits to lead Birmingham (6-2, 3-1 in league) to a 12-8 West Valley League win at Canoga Park (1-3 in league). . . . Darci Stehlik hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to lead El Camino Real to an 18-0 West Valley League win over Cleveland.

Chris Parks had four hits and three stolen bases to lead Sylmar (5-3, 4-0 in league) to a 6-0 North Valley League win over Granada Hills (2-2 in league). . . . Rosemary Gallegos pitched a seven-hitter and had two hits and four RBIs to lead San Fernando (5-6, 1-3 in league) to a 21-7 North Valley League win over Monroe.

Canyon (6-7, 5-3 in league) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to record a 7-6 Golden League victory over Burroughs of Ridgecrest.

GOLF

Lee Chester shot a 6-over-par 77 to tie for medalist honors and lead Kennedy (1-5 in league) to a 426-430 Valley 5-A League victory over Birmingham (4-3 in league) at Knollwood Golf Course in Granada Hills. . . . Lance Oriti shot a 4-over-par 40 to lead Grant (4-4-1 in league) to a nine-hole 229-268 Valley 3-A League win over Westchester (1-8 in league) at Woodley Golf Course.
