Yorba Linda Beats Mission Viejo for Soccer Title

The Yorba Linda Frontier Sidewinders defeated Mission Viejo United, 3-1, to win the championship of the girls’ 16-and-under division at the California State Cup youth soccer finals Saturday at Cal Poly Pomona.

In other brackets, the Palos Verdes Breakers defeated the Fountain Valley Stingers, 3-2, in the girls’ 19-and-under division; the Jusa Cougars defeated the Mission Viejo Hotspurs, 3-2, in the boys’ 16-and-under division, and the Cerritos Giants defeated the North Huntington Beach Titans, 3-1, in the boys’ 15-and-under division.

In the Southern California championships, Culver Fram defeated the North Huntington Beach Untouchables, 3-0, in the boys’ 19-and-under final, and the Chino Nightmares defeated the Mission Viejo Soccerettes, 6-0, in the girls’ 19-and-under final.
