Parish Received Only a Slap on the Wrist
I’ve just finished watching a so-called basketball player named Robert Parish mug another so-called basketball player, Bill Laimbeer. Nary a foul was called and the subsequent fine was, at best, a slap on the wrist.
What the hell has basketball become? Is this what Naismith had in mind? Will Hulk Hogan be the first choice in the upcoming draft? Is it mandatory for referees to look the other way so that one team can gain revenge? And what about the gutless wonders who run the league? What’s this measly $7,500 fine and one-game suspension when the mugger wasn’t expected to play anyway?
Let’s hope the NBA gets real. Its game belongs in an alley behind a sleazy bar.
