Sigel and Hall Reach Final of 9-Ball Tournament
Mike Sigel, the No. 1-seeded player, knocked off Efren Reyes, 7-3, 4-7, 7-5, in semifinal play of the $50,000 Peter Vitalie Co. California Nine-Ball tournament at the Biltmore Hotel Sunday.
In the other semifinal, Buddy Hall defeated Mike Lebron, 7-6, 7-4.
Sigel, the No. 1 seeded player, met Hall in the final late Sunday night.
The four-day tournament, which featured 64 of the world’s best players, drew more than 6,000 spectators. The four Saturday and Sunday sessions were sold out with 1,000 spectators at each session.
Jean Balukas, the world’s top women’s player who is making a run at the men’s tour, lost in the second round Friday night to Steve Mizerak.
