Man Killed, 2 Hurt in Sun Valley Crash
An unidentified man was killed and two other people were seriously injured Friday night in Sun Valley when a woman driver who swerved onto oncoming traffic crashed head-on into the man’s car, Los Angeles police said.
The man was driving south on San Fernando Road near Ratner Street when he was hit by an unidentified woman motorist driving north on San Fernando Road, said Officer Bill Mulvehill. The woman and a passenger in the man’s car were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, where they were in critical condition, according to hospital officials.
Witnesses told police that the woman, driving a 1973 Subaru, swerved into oncoming traffic while bending down, apparently to retrieve something on the floor of her car. She hit a 1978 Toyota.
