HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS : Alemany Girls Win in Volleyball

Share

Not surprisingly, Sharron Coia was pleased that the Alemany girls volleyball team won its San Fernando Valley League opener Wednesday. But the manner in which the Indians won bothered the third-year coach.

“We could have played better,” Coia said after Alemany’s 15-10, 15-11, 15-12 win over St. Genevieve. “We got ahead a couple of times and sat back.”

Junior Ann Sasadeusz had six kills and four blocks to lead Alemany (1-2). Senior Kelly Cook and Staci Baldwin combined for 16 service points.
