ORANGE COUNTY PREP FOOTBALL : Roundup : El Dorado Rolls Past Fullerton, 43-14

El Dorado High School scored on the opening kickoff and never looked back as the Golden Hawks defeated Fullerton, 43-14, Thursday night in a nonleague game in Bradford Stadium.

John Cribari took the opening kick and ran 72 yards for the score to give El Dorado (4-0) a 7-0 lead.

Running back Chris Olsen, who gained 95 yards in 21 carries, rushed for a touchdown in the first quarter and threw for another in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback David Swearingen--a junior replacing senior Kevin Schula, who broke his ankle two weeks ago--completed 7 of 14 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.

Fullerton is 0-4.

In other nonleague games:

Anaheim 9, Cypress 7--With the Colonists trailing, 7-6, in the third quarter, Robert Aldaz kicked a 35-yard field goal that proved to be the game-winner in a nonleague game in Glover Stadium.

Cypress scored first on a 10-yard pass play from quarterback Pete Dopulos to Paul Gelbach early in the first quarter. Anaheim’s Joaquin Garcia scored on a 57-yard run later in the first quarter.

Mayfair 7, Magnolia 6--Sam Plambeck scored on a one-yard run late in the first half as the Monsoons defeated the Sentinels before 350 in Handel Stadium.

Derrick Christian scored on a two-yard run midway through the fourth quarter for Magnolia (0-4). Christian who gained 73 yards in 13 carries. Mayfair (1-2-1) was held to 85 yards in the first half and 112 for the game. The Monsoons were hampered by 15 penalties for 163 yards. Magnolia gained just 116 yards for the game, 48 passing and 68 rushing.

University 20, Laguna Hills 14--David Liebke scored twice and rushed for 164 yards in 14 carries to lead the Trojans to a nonleague victory in Irvine Stadium.

Liebke gave the Trojans a 7-0 when he scored on a 67-yard run on the second play from scrimmage. His seven-yard run with 4:33 left in the game gave University (3-1) a 20-7 lead.

Laguna Hills (0-4) closed the gap to 20-14 with 1:54 remaining in the game on Mike Helm’s 21-yard pass to Brian Fleming.
