Carpinteria 48, Oak Park 0--Behind three touchdowns and six conversion kicks by John Zanini, the Warriors crushed previously unbeaten Oak Park at Carpinteria.
Zanini scored on runs of 10, 1 and 1 yards and had a game-high 79 yards rushing on 16 carries. Carpinteria quarterback Coley Candaele scored on runs of 8 and 3 yards and had 58 yards rushing.
Oak Park quarterback Chris Hall completed 9 of 21 passes for 104 yards and threw 2 interceptions. Hall and tailback Jason Stein led Oak Park with 44 yards rushing each. Joe Gerty had four receptions for 55 yards for Oak Park.
Carpinteria (4-0) out-gained Oak Park (3-1), 375 to 225.
“I guess we were a little bit too tough for them, “ Carpinteria Coach Lou Panizzon said.
Zanini scored on the Warriors’ first drive and, five plays later, Emilio Handell returned a punt 91 yards to make the score 14-0.
Oak Park drove to the Carpinteria one-yard line late in the game but failed to score.
