Coaches Honor Four CSUN Soccer Players

The National Soccer Coaches Assn. has selected Joey Kirk, Thor Lee, Rodney Batt and Steve Lazarus of Cal State Northridge for the Division II All-Far West team.

CSUN (18-1-1), ranked No. 1 in Division II, will travel this weekend to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the NCAA Final Four.

Kirk, a senior forward, had 30 goals and 17 assists this season. He needs one more assist to tie the school record set by Mike McAndrew in 1985. Kirk recently was selected to travel to Guatemala with the U. S. national team.

Lee, a senior midfielder who was an All-American sweeper last season, had eight goals and 10 assists. Batt, a senior midfielder, had 13 goals and seven assists. Lazarus, a junior defender, had three goals and five assists.
