Poor-Shooting Mater Dei Falls to Palisades; Flat Play Leads to Second Loss in 2 Days

Mater Dei High School dropped its second basketball game in two days, losing to Palisades High School, 65-47, in the Beverly Hills Tournament. The Monarchs (6-2) finished fourth in the tournament. On Friday, Mater Dei lost to Beverly Hills.

Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight, who has only lost 9 games in 5 years, described his team's performance as flat. The Monarchs, who trailed by 13 points at halftime, shot just 37% from the field. Although they narrowed the gap to six points, the Monarchs couldn't overcome Palisades, which was led by guard Jamie Dudley with 21 points.

Kevin Rembert was the only Mater Dei player in double figures with 16 points.
